4 day Merzouga desert tour from Errachidia. During these 4 days and 3 nights, you will explore the desert area. Visit the nomads in their tents, also enjoy the music of Gnaoua and dance performance of Khamlia people. After that take a look at an old eyeliner mine. In addition to Merzouga wild life lake a few kilometres away from Merzouga. Then stroll in the palm trees grove, ride camels, and also enjoy the magical sunset and sunrise on the sand dunes. Furthermore you will spend a night in a camp located in the middle of the Sahara desert. Then we visit the Dades Valley, Todra gorges and the Kasbah of Ait Ben Haddou. Cross the High Atlas mountains and the Tizi-n-Tichka pass. The tour ends in Marrakech

1st day: Arrival to Errachidia – Merzouga ( 2 hours Drive )

On the first day of your 4 day Merzouga desert tour, we pick you up from Errachidia (ERH) Airport, or your Accommodation and drive south to the Sahara dunes of Merzouga. Overnight in Merzouga.

• Domestic flights from Casablanca operate on 7 Days a week ( Royal Air Maroc ). Arrive at Midnight.

2nd Day : Explore Merzouga – Nomads – Khamlia ( Gnaoua village ) – Merzouga Lake – Erg Chebbi – Palm Grove ( 2 Hours Drive )

After breakfast, we dedicate the day to exploring the Merzouga Desert ( Erg Chebbi ). The area offers sand dunes, a seasonal wild lake, fossil sites, small mines, and beautiful oases—ideal for light outdoor activities.

We start with an off-road drive to an old kohl (eyeliner) mine, then visit nomads in their woven tents and learn about their way of life over a cup of Berber tea. Next, continue to Khamlia to enjoy Gnaoua music and dance; many residents have roots in Mali, Sudan, and Niger. Free time for lunch in a local restaurant. In the afternoon, stroll through a palm grove and drive a few kilometers to the wild lake of Merzouga (often called the flamingos’ lake).

Later, switch to camels to cross the dunes, stopping on a high dune for sunset, then continue to the luxury camp. Enjoy Berber drumming around the campfire under a sky full of stars. Dinner and overnight in the camp.

3rd Day : Merzouga Sahara – Rissani – Erfoud – Todra Gorges – Dades Valley ( 5 hours Drive )  

After breakfast, we leave the desert to visit Rissani town, the ancient capital of Tafilalet. Rissani still a major trading center in the region, with a large souk  lively on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Sundays.

After a stroll in Rissani Souk, we continue to Erfoud, where we visit one of the workshops of fossilized marble. Then we drive through Touroug and Tinjdad palm groves, to reach the Todra Gorges. The course of Todra river has carved out a grand canyon through the mountains -Making a high red cliff-sided canyon. These gorges are an ideal place for rock climbers. Feel free to wander in the gorges and appreciate the beauty of the landscape. Free time for lunch in a restaurant. Then we continue to the Dades valley, through Boumalne Dades. Inevitable stops at the “monkey fingers” rock formation. And on a spot atop a mountain overlooking the Dades valley. Finally, dinner and overnight in a hotel.

4th Day : Dades Valley – Roses Valley – Palm Groves of Skoura – Ouarzazate – Ait Ben Haddou Kasbah – High Atlas Mountains – Marrakesh ( 5.5 Hours Drive ) 

On the last day of your 4 day desert tour, we continue our trip to Kalaa Magouna, to visit the Rose valley. A Rose Festival is held annually in May. Where the locals offer their rose products, from perfumes, rose water, oil, to cosmetic products. We then drive through the palm groves of Skoura. Later, we reach Ouarzazate, also known as the gate of the desert. We will visit the studios, in which famous movies were shot.

We depart to visit the famous Kasbah of Ait Ben Haddou. A fortified village recognized as a World Heritage Site by UNESCO. Furthermore, the Kasbah has appeared in many movies including : Gladiator, Alexander, The Mummy…etc. And TV series including Game Of Thrones. Then we continue to Marrakesh. Driving through the Tizi-N-Tichka pass, and also the spectacular the High Atlas Mountains. Stops will be made for lunch, and to take pictures at interesting spots. Finally, we reach Marrakesh, we drop you off at the airport or your accommodation. End of the tour
